I’ve dealt with imposter feelings for years—at work, in relationships, even just being myself. This book felt like someone was finally putting words to what I’ve been experiencing. The way it breaks things down helped me realize I’m not alone or broken. I liked how straightforward the tone was, and I actually tried some of the exercises. They've helped me quiet that constant voice of self-doubt. I’m not “fixed,” but I’m way more confident moving forward.

My entire career as a consultant and as an educator, has been filled with instances in which I feel like I am just "faking it" and that others will find out I am not the amazing person that I strive to be in spite of accomplishments and praise (that I secretly crave). No wonder I felt so understood when listening to this audio book, and I am very grateful to the colleague who shared this with me. One of the things I liked best is the straight-forward statement that it's important to go beyond quick fixes, to really understand the psychology behind my past, and to lean into tangible changes I can make. For example, to work on developing a growth mindset, to engage in goal setting and milestones so that I can see evidence of the progress I am making. Plus so many other great strategies I can put to good use. I am looking forward to listening to this audiobook a second time and taking notes!

This audiobook felt like a gentle but direct reality check for my inner critic. The part that stuck with me most was how it broke down overthinking and tied it to deeper fears of not being enough—it made me see how often I discount my own progress. I appreciated the exercises that helped me shift my thoughts in real time instead of just noticing them. It doesn’t overpromise or sugarcoat—just gives clear insights that actually land.

I didn’t even realize how much imposter syndrome was messing with my confidence until I started reading this. The examples hit close to home, and the tools helped me stop second guessing everything I do. I’ve started owning my accomplishments instead of brushing them off or feeling like a fraud. It’s practical, honest, and gave me a new way to talk to myself, without all the self doubt. If you’ve ever felt “not enough,” this really helps shift that mindset.

Quieted That Inner Critic
