Overman is a metaphysical book which dwells upon the concept of the ultimate progression of man into a highly enlightened species called the supramental being, towards which, the author says, the intermediary stage (the Overman) has already been reached. Georges Van Vrekhem is a Flemish speaking Belgian. He has been quite well-known as a journalist, poet and playwright. He became acquainted with the works of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother in 1964. In 1970 he joined the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry, and in 1978 he moved to Auroville, which has been his home ever since. He has translated into Dutch several books of Sri Aurobindo, the Mother and Satprem, as well as selected writings from the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Among his books are: Beyond Man – Life and the works of Sri Aurobindo Patterns of the Present, in the Light of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother Evolution, Religion, and the Unknown God Consciousness & Thought Philosophy
