Winston Churchill wrote a wonderful explanation of when he took up his hobby along with an explanation of what is mentally or physically good for people to take up their own hobbies. He encourages the reader (listener) to try the brush and canvas and use the eyes to closely examine the details of the scenes around and use the medium for a type of memory exercise. Do listen.

Fascinating!

This reader brings you in as tho you are sitting with Mr. Churchill himself…. He shares the reason for painting not the process… He does offer a few good words of advice and shares why painting ( of any sort but for him, it’s oil painting ) can take you away ( if only for that hour or so ) to a place where stresses and cares can’t and so do not, enter in! He describes what landscapes offer an artist In other countries that many may not travel to… keeping in mind, this is written way before technology took over and we may see any sea or landscape we wish… ! But painting it is another thing all together. Great book for those who love to be taken back to a more simple time…creativity!

Strictly for an artist of any caliber
