This is more than just a love story. It is a kind lesson on gratitude and cherishing time spent with our loved ones.

I really enjoyed the flashbacks to the 1940s. They tenderly broke my heart and made me fall in love with a cast of strong women and charming gentlemen. I especially enjoyed finding out what they were up to in present time.

Amy Hedley sweetly carried this story. Her narration was lovely, however, initially I found it challenging to distinguish between characters when the group of women engaged in conversation. They sounded very similar to me, hence I had to restart the book a few times. With that said, I wouldn't hesitate to listen to another book narrated by her. She has a lovely voice.
