If you want to help your child overcome daily obstacles, set them up for success, and make your home more peaceful for the whole family, then keep listening….

Whether your child has only been recently diagnosed with ADHD or you’ve been living with their condition for quite a while, it’s normal for parents to feel worried, overwhelmed, and exhausted most of the time.

However, keep in mind that ADHD is a condition, not a life sentence. It’s entirely possible for your young one to succeed because of their condition–not despite it. The key is learning how to address your child’s condition properly and consistently at the soonest time possible–the earlier you manage it, the higher their chances of success and happiness.

Fortunately, this book is filled with all the things you need to know about dealing with ADHD without having to lose sleep, patience, and sanity in the process. Inside, here is just a small fraction of what you will discover:

  • Fool-proof parenting strategies to help your child thrive…whether at home or at school
  • The most common misconceptions and fears about ADHD: It’s time to debunk the myths and unleash the truths about this disorder.
  • Three types of ADHD and their symptoms: Become a better parent for your child by fully understanding what they’re going through.
  • The positive side of ADHD: Learn why and how your child can benefit from their condition.
  • Effective strategies to manage ADHD–from natural remedies to medications and therapy options
  • How to build your child’s social skills and improve their executive function skills–help them make and keep friends
  • Over 18 self-care tips for parents: Avoid burnout and continue being a super parent to your little one!

With your help, your young one can rise above their challenges, beat the odds, and grow up as a confident and high-achieving adult. Don’t let ADHD become a roadblock on your child’s way to success

I highly recommend this book! The author discusses the ways environmental differences can impact children with ADHD. The author describes alternative coping strategies such as meditation and therapy. Raising a child with an ADHD diagnosis can be more difficult at times, but it isn't a drawback of their lives. Instead it is a positive way to engage with the world around them. Once ADHD is understood and used to achieve daily goals, a child can have amazing success in life. Perspective is everything! Understanding how to engage with your child is of the utmost importance and this book emphasizes focusing on the positives of the diagnosis and its potential rather than seeing it as a detriment to daily activities. This book can be a great and thorough guide for the family at large in understanding a child with ADHD. The book is well-researched and clearly compassionate about the subject.

Although it can be more challenging to raise kids with ADHD, this book points out that it is not a negative in and of itself. The famous people that have ADHD (which I didn’t know!) who’ve accomplished a great deal means that various characteristics of ADHD, when channeled in a productive manner, can lead to great success! Some practical tips I learned about how to speak with young children about the condition, not dwelling on negatives and problems, but refocusing efforts and channeling curiosity into creative adventures is HUGE! There’s a wealth of resources near the end of the book about podcasts, apps, support groups, oh and the information about natural healing are themselves worth buying this book for. But there’s so much more that you’ll just have to hear for yourself!

My cousin has ADHD. He was diagnosed at a very young age, but my aunt never mentioned what life was like raising a child with ADHD. I didn't realize how many adjustments she had to make, but after listening to this book, it makes sense why she had changed jobs to make sure she had more. I thought it was just because she wanted to spend more time with her children while they were young. This audiobook has really opened my eyes to the types of changes to not just regular activities but the changes in mental state that has to take place in order to assist youth with ADHD and help them grow to be able to function with this condition in their adulthood. I really appreciate this inside look from a caring parent who takes care of a child with this condition and not a doctor that doesn't actually live with someone who has ADHD. I also really like the fact that the ebook is available with the audiobook for those of us who like to read while we listen.

Don’t be worried about all the disclaimers at the beginning of the book. I was wondering what I was getting myself into! But the book was informative but not overly so - did not feel like I was listening to a textbook. Hearing another persons journey which will always share some common ground where you can find understanding and helpful
Hints. I never heard or thought of it as a curse so was a little put off by that description. I guess some parents just need more reassurance. All in all a fast paced read that can provide some tips to help in almost every situation imaginable.

Informative

The content provides a good overview of ADHD for a parent in the early stages of diagnosis (like me). I appreciated much of the content, advice, and the resources offered, though some more personal experiences with specific resources would have been appreciated (I think the author may have just googled “ADHD podcasts”.) The narrator seemed bored with the content, and read like she was reading a textbook aloud. The book could have been more engaging with a different narrator for sure. It would also have helped if she hadn’t mispronounced words like norepinephrine and clonidine, which was distracting.
