The last remnant of humanity survives in an artificially engineered frozen Homeland designed to keep out catastrophic storms which have wrecked the rest of the earth. The only consolation and motivation are provided by hi-tech, official religion which exhorts the survivors to work hard at allotted tasks in order to get to the blessed comfort of heaven when they die. Cal and Poll are two students in this arctic universe who refuse to accept the official doctrines and party-line. Joining forces, their unorthodox questioning and behavior bring them, step by step, to the most dramatic discoveries, the last the most stunning of all. A dystopian story of hidden truth, loss, love and revolution, leading to final astonishing revelation... Action & Adventure Post-Apocalyptic Science Fiction

after reading and listening to countless dystopian tales, I find this one interesting. the twists were predictable at times, but it was still worthwhile hearing the characters adapt to them. great story, but terribly distracting voiceover. The AI could barely pronounce quite a few frequently used names like Ebony and Saoirse.

an interesting take on dystopian sci-fi.

What a great book! So many nooks, crannies and subtle reminders. What a brilliant collection of thoughts, actions, and real life emotion. A very curious story indeed. In the end, what remains of us is love. How appropriate and true!

True love never dies.
