Patty’s Potent Potion

When Shawna Haydel was 16 years old, she dropped Ashton Guidry's name into a potion that would supposedly make Ashton fall in love with her. She knew it was silly, but she clung to one irrational thread of hope their friend Patty's concoction would grant her heart's desire. Shawna's hopes were dashed when Ashton packed up her things and went away to college completely unaware of Shawna's feelings.

Twenty-three years after Patty's potion was brewed, Ashton returns to her hometown. She finds time has changed a lot, including Shawna. Ashton has done quite a bit of changing, too, and sees Shawna in a whole new light. Perhaps Patty's potion was potent after all.

Perfection!

I didn't go into this with very high expectations. Every once in awhile I find myself wanting a "junk food" book, and that's usually romance for me. This book is absolute perfection! It's sweet, and doesn't follow the usual story arc, which is so boring. These women are sweet, funny, and are just out there living their best lives. I want to climb into this world of dirty talking grandmothers, supportive bosses, and charming children.

hilarious and heartwarming

There were a couple of minor glitches in the writing (naming the wrong character in a scene) but overall the story was easy to follow and heartwarming.
The performance was very good also. My only criticism would be that a few of the character voices sounded too similar.
It was a great listen and I laughed out loud several times - I couldn't help myself! So entertaining!

Great stress relief

Robyn Alexander hit a home run with this story. So many laugh out loud moments! Multi generational family and lots of love. Lori Prince’s narration brought out all the characters.

Ohhhhhhh Myyyyyyyy Gawwwwd x2!!!

This was just soooo hilarious to me that I no sooner finished listening to it, that I turned right around and started re-listening! It was laugh-out-loud funny, was a sweet love story/family relationship with its tender spots, and did I say hilarious already?! Lori's narration is wonderful, although at times I had difficulty deciphering between Shawna and Ashton's characters.
You MUST listen to this --it is SIMPLY a riot! You won't be sorry!
