Good Story, Totally Unlikable Characters

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I typically love a good stalking story however the characters often have unrealistic, extremely frustrating reactions to fairly serious situations that makes them straight up unlikable. Marta, the main character, tells her best friend and business partner Carol that Todd, a one night stand, showed up at her house then found her husband at work and Carol's reaction is basically a shrug. Carol tells her she's egotistical to think she's being stalked and I just can't imagine an adult woman saying that to her best friend. She seemed to peddling the old he-only-picks-on-you-because-he-likes-you idea and that's frustrating.

Would you be willing to try another book from Jonnie Jacobs? Why or why not?

I absolutely would be willing to try another book from Jonnie Jacobs because while I didn't love a lot of the characters' reactions, there were many aspects of the book I did enjoy. I think this story itself was entertaining and maybe with more character development I would have loved it.

careful who you pick up from a bar...

Excellent psychodrama thriller.
You just never know how in one night stand will turn out. One night of fun has definitely wound This woman's life marriage you name it. What do you do that I will not take no for an answer, and believes that he is your soulmate and you are meant to be together? Even if you tell him repeatedly no. Before you know it, you come home and he in the kitchen with your husband having a great old time sharing a beer. That is when things start to get very interesting. Some good twist and turns lay ahead.

Watch out for those Bar pick-ups!

I have read some of this author's books in the past and have enjoyed them. I was given this book to read by the author for a nonbiased review. I thought the story line was very good. It was a different spin on picking up Psyco men at a bar. This crazy man went a few steps further with his stalking game. I would have enjoyed the audiobook with a different narrator. She basically just read the book. I realize that we as listeners have different opinions of our narrators and the books they perform, however, a thriller should, in my opinion, be read by someone with some dramatic inflection in their voice.I will purchase another book by this author.

Loved the book!!

I was given this book for free in return for an unbiased review. The story kept me anxious to see what the sociopath would do next. The narrator was very natural and did a good job.
