The main characters come to life quickly but

The suspects trapped in a hotel, Agatha Christy -style, were hard to keep sorted. I decided about midway through I didn’t care whodunit and would just concentrate on the tensions between Lynley and his friends. There was enough of that to keep my interest to the end.

Fantastic writing and narration

Excellent writing and plotting. Lively, believable characters. Elizabeth George is definitely one of the best mystery writers I’ve ever read. Davina Porter is the Best narrator around!

Complex and Well Told

Love these characters and their strengths and weaknesses. Twists and turns provide an intriguing ride!

Good Read

Elizabeth George is a terrific writer. The Lynley Havers series is great. But I could listen to Davina Porter read, well anything. She is superb.

So far very boring

Half way thru and I haven’t found one character I can not dislike and the main character seems to have no personality at all. The actual plot is moving at a glacial pace and is painfully boring. I really wanted to find a new author to like. This isn’t the author. The narration is awfully precious and phony. One more hour…update: gave up after 30 more minutes. Must be a taste thing. Sigh.
