Our only task as Christians is to hear God and to obey Him. Sometimes all that means is to simply be available to “keep the door open” for His Holy Spirit to do His work. At other times it may mean being willing to do something absurd. God will not ask us to do something for no reason. But we must be willing to obey, even when we don’t know all the reasons. In this book, Jamie Buckingham begins with a story of a man who was completely opposed to God. But through a simple act of obedience, doing something that seemed absurd at the time, the man’s heart was changed. Keeping the door open to allow the Holy Spirit to work changed this man’s life for all eternity. Christians are different because we hear the voice of God.
