HALF BOY - HALF GOD - ALL HERO.

Look, I never asked to be the son of a Greek god. I was just a normal kid. . . until I accidentally vaporized my maths teacher.

Percy Jackson is having a bad week. His life has gone from totally normal to monsters-from-Greek-mythology-randomly-appearing kind of strange. Worse still, the king of the gods thinks Percy has stolen his all-powerful lightning bolt - and it seems making Zeus angry is a very bad idea.

Now Percy and his friends have just ten days to catch the true lightning thief and stop all-out war from erupting on Mount Olympus. . .

Loved it all, Action right from the start, some of the greek pronunciations were funny but that really doesn't matter unless you are Greek, Cypriot or a scholar and want to nit pick.
Clever mythology and modern mash up. Performance was very good with a great array of characters from the one reader.. Already bought the second one to go onto.
Even if you didn't like the film, this is packed out way more so would recommend!

Awesome for any age!

i read the book after watching the movie and have to say its day and night difference. Like listening to two different stories. the book is far more captivating and interesting than the movie could ever hope to be.

Its also my first audiobook ever and Jesse Bernstein does amazing job voicing all the different characters, switching between the voices flawlessly and hands down makes the story 100 times more engaging.

Cant wait to read the rest. Far better than reading it myself.

great story for any greek fan

Would you consider the audio edition of The Lightning Thief: Percy Jackson, Book 1 to be better than the print version?

Yes, I recall reading the print version in primary and I really did like it but never considered reading the other books. But when I listened to it I was hooked.

What did you like best about this story?

The action and adventure, the emotion. The precise use of greek mythology spun into it, all real myths.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene was when Percy, Grover and Sally were fighting their way to camp half-blood. It was action-packed, and very emotional.

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this book.

I read this book a long time ago. Finally, I was able to get the audio version. It's a little different than what I remembered. I still found it excellent, but more for children now. Already reading book two =)

Great for children
