Just when the current seems safer, an unseen danger emerges and threatens to destroy everything.

When Cassidy Livingston finds a journal hidden deep in the recesses of her ice cream truck, her curiosity kicks into high gear. Islanders suspect that Elsa, the journal's owner, didn't die accidentally. Her final entry indicates their suspicions might be correct and that what Elsa observed on her final night may have led to her demise.

Against the advice of Ty Chambers, her former Navy SEAL boyfriend, Cassidy taps into her detective skills and hunts for answers. But her search only leads to a skeletal body and trouble for both of them. As helplessness threatens to drown her, Cassidy is desperate to turn back time.

Can Cassidy find what she needs to navigate the perilous situation? Or will the riptide surrounding her threaten everyone and everything Cassidy loves?

So far, I've enjoyed this series, a great deal. My only problem is when the author pumps up the main character as being one that can, "trust her instinct" and then makes over the top stupid decisions that the average person with just a tiny bit of common sense, would NOT decide to do, in order to set up a crisis situation. I have a BIG problem with that as I've noticed several authors of cozy mysteries will do the same. One of the big problems with this book is that Cassidy is suppose to have such great instincts, yet, just gullibly believes, Paul, about Simon being a traitor. Paul, who has already shown Cassidy that he's a liar and a cheat, and she just gullibly believes Paul! Unbelievable! Painting a character as having good instincts and then having them make dumb decisions, that the average person, of average intelligence, would NOT make, in order to set up a bad situation. I see this author as being creative enough to come up with better than pulling that lame number on the audience.

Good Suspense Mystery Series

I like it but probably won’t read any other books in the series. It should probably have been marked as religious fiction.

Good but too religious for me
