Enjoyed the stories; narration was bad

While are stories were well told shorts, the virtual voice narration was so poor that it significantly detracted from them. No distinction of characters, no fluctuation in tone, no emotion. I would not recommend the book and I will be sure not to acquire books recorded with virtual voice in future. That technology definitely needs a great deal of improvement.

Virtual Voice dimishes the experience

Was happy to listen to the pets of the main characters in Steve Higgs books tell their tales. I am quite a fan of his work. However, the virtual voice experience, while wonderful for narration (soothing and evenly paced), ensured that each character speaking had the same, even tone. You couldn't tell one character from another and during episodes of excitement, none of this came across as the voice remained bland. Buster speaking as Devil Dog was the same as Buster normally - no raspy voice although the narrator would say he was delivering his line in this rasp. If this series is ever performed by a real, flesh and blood person, I would listen to it again...until then, I won't.

Hate the narration

The virtual voice misses the mark on so many occasions that it distracts from the story. It’s like your second grade teacher reading out loud, but not expecting the listeners to care.
