The pristine, wrap-around porch, invites guests to end their day with a view of the sunset over the lake. It has been owned by the Sandburg family for decades providing vacation and recreational experiences for generations of guests. Life-long foster care kids find themselves as adults enjoying adventures in friendship and in their careers. Their relationship is full of blessings, but life throws this pair a challenge that they will endure to the end. Nina and her father enjoy Cabolusa Lodge during an annual family Christmas get-a-way, bringing back memories of their now-deceased mother/spouse. What healing might happen when Nina meets Hadley who has also lived a life of loss and challenges? How will their friendship have an everlasting impact on each of their lives?
