Call this our oldest future, ever new:
To think together past the walls we’ve built;
To ask what follows when we say we know,
And what we owe to beings seen or not.
The hum of thought runs under every age—
A river finding paths through rock and root.
From first surprise to seasoned clarity,
This birth continues as we breathe and speak.
The world invites; the mind replies with care;
This wonder, named philosophy, goes on.
