While Rose might be reeling from the news that Joe's ex-girlfriend is pregnant, she's got bigger issues to deal with. One, putting her business back together - albeit with a new partner - and into two separate entities; and two, trying to keep the Fenton County Sheriff's Department from figuring out the true identity of the Lady in Black.

Includes POVs from Violet, Bruce Wayne, Joe, and Mason.

I missed the first novella, however this one was sweet and I really enjoyed that it was told by each character's perspective!

Good follow-up

This novella gives us a glimpse of the aftermath of Violet allowing Joe to pay off the loan on the Gardner’s Sisters Nursery (book 5). We get some chapters from Violet, Mason, Bruce Wayne and Joe’s POV not just the story from Rose’s. We get to see some back story as well as their current thought processes which allowed me to think better of some characters and worse of others. Despite being short, the novella was well written, the characters had dimension and the storyline was engaging. This novella is not really a standalone, it needs to be read after the previous book in the series in order to get the full effect of the plot lines. I am excited to read more in the series as Rose continues to grow, make missteps, and fall into messy situations.

Shannon McManus did a good job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters fairly convincingly.

I loved the different points of view

Felt like a recap of previous book. I would not recommend as being worth the purchase.

I really am enjoying this series so I jump at the chance for another book. It was very disappointing when it was a recap of what had gone before. The narration is as always very well done.

Just a recap.
