John Bunyan was a simple maker and mender of pots and kettles who received very little education. In spite of that, he penned the most successful allegory ever written. He lost his first wife and was imprisoned for twelve years for his compelling—but unlicensed—preaching. Nevertheless, his preaching about the gravity of sin, salvation by grace, the cost of discipleship, perseverance, and the glory of eternal life lives on in the signs and symbols of The Pilgrim’s Progress.

Embark on a perilous journey with Christian, the lead character, from the City of Destruction to the luminous safe haven of the Celestial City. The journey will encourage you to “set your hope fully on the grace to be given you” amidst the obstacles of life.

This audiobook was a delight to listen to. Having read the unabridged version with accompanying Scriptures in the side margins, this was much more concise, yet it aligns nicely with the core of the original.

Once listeners have heard this sobering book by the dear John Bunyan, I encourage them to get a good copy of Pilgrim's Progress and read it in it's entirety along side the Bible. It is a treasure for all ages and speaks to our day as much as those of the past.

A Classic For Modern Hearers

I've tried to read this a number of times, but this abridged version finally did the trick. I enjoyed the whole story. And the performance.

Thoroughly Enjoyable!

I will listen to it again. My husband read it in his teen years, I told him to listen to it now. What a blessing. Thank you brother John Bunyan.
