Being human, my life at Silver Oaks isn't quite a fairytale. This is a school for fae refugees, and I'm not one. Instead, I'm going to be a knight in shining armor—wielding the one thing none of them want to be around: iron.

I'm just not very good at being a hero. My magic is dangerous to the fae. My cool new powers include doing all the things they can't, and yet somehow I'm supposed to be their champion? Sadly, this whole thing doesn't come with a manual. But that's ok. I'm not good at following directions anyway.

So I'm making it up as I go, which basically means protecting my friends. It doesn't matter if that's from rumors that cut deep, magical malfunctions, or the nuances of seasonal politics. I'm going to figure this stuff out, because I finally found where I belong—the one place where being all wrong makes me just right.

I may have started out in the ashes of burned bridges, but love is driving me. The kind I have for my newfound family, my friends, and the pretty pixie who is so much more than my best friend. The best part is that instead of some fairy godmother, I ended up with a kick-ass crow.

Together, we will make monsters into Prince Charmings.

And when the spell wears off, I might actually find my own happily ever after—or die trying.

Pixie Problems is book two in the projected six-book An Accidental Fairy Tale series.

A lot of inessential information in the middle. A lot of teen angst that doesn’t further the plot. The main story line is interesting, I just wished we had more of it.

This is definitely a YA novel.

I’ve read all of the stories in this series and I absolutely love them but I like to get the audible when it comes out to support the authors I like. I don’t know that I’m going to be able to finish this book though. I hate leaving negative reviews on authors I love like AH Hadley, but this is just so bad. The male narrator is getting most of the names wrong. (Naveah is pronounced nevy-ha.) His voices for different male characters don’t change so you have no idea who is supposed to be talking. The female narrator just has a really strange accent or tone of voice or pronunciation. I don’t even know which or if it’s all of the above. Instead of pronouncing with with an s in them, she uses a z sound. Doesn’t seem that far off, but it pulls me out of the story each time. Same deal with the weird pronunciations too. Instead of saying “faeril” as I assume it would be pronounced like fae-ril, she says feral. It’s just so distracting that I don’t think I’ll finish. It’s just making the memory of the book gross.

Story is great. Narrators are terrible
