In Planet of the Damned, Brion Brandd, the winner of "The Twenties", a kind of planet-wide Olympics of both mind and body, barely has time to savor his victory when he is called away by a previous winner to help save Dis, a planet that seems intent on its own destruction and the destruction of it's neighbor. When Brion and his friend Lea arrive on Dis, they are confronted by baffling questions. What planetary evolution has caused such a difference in the inhabitants? Why are one set of people deeply connected with the planet and one totally unconnected to anything but dominance and destruction? He must find the answersto these questions and find the link essential to saving both worlds while racing against a doomsday clock. It will take all their skill, courage, and empathy to do this.

Excellent presentation of a great sci-fi story by Harry Harrison, one of the true masters of the genre. Very suspenseful...found myself looking for excuses to take long drives so I could listen to more!

Great book with a lot of imagination.

This is a great book that has a a great story line. I highly recommend it.

Ugh

OK, Harry Harrison has some great works out there. This isn't one of them.

I have listened with great pleasure to "Make Room! Make Room!" and "The Stainless Steel Rat," and I wanted to try another Harry Harrison work. This one wasn't the one to try. The plot isn't particularly compelling and it got hard to care what happened in the end.

I found Jim Roberts' narration to be poor at best. He is clearly reading, not narrating, and it's just tiresome. I'm crossing any book narrated by him off my list.
