An American TV treasure found murdered. A surprising slew of Tinseltown enemies. Can this islander investigator shine the spotlight on the killer?

Maui, Hawaii. PI Edgar Allan “Poe” Rutherford has the perfect gift for his wife’s birthday. Arranging a Zoom call with her favorite childhood actor, Poe is thrilled when his surprise is a hit. But when the well-loved celebrity is discovered dead in his home a few days later, the private eye travels to LA to find the truth.

With the grieving daughter suspicious of her famous father’s death, the detective dives deep into the star’s life to investigate possible foul play. And as he uncovers the victim’s shady past, Poe’s expert sleuthing leads him to a shocking motive for the crime.

I love this series. The author is funny, down to earth & gifted. The narrator is flawless. However, this story was congested with too many people. One mystery thread is occurring on Maui, one in LA. Both similar. Along with all the humorous family & friend dramas. Bottom line, it was just too much to wade through relative to the new people involved in his two cases.

I definitely would not recommend starting with this audible. Start with book 1 in the series. As a follow up book in the series, yes, it is definitely worth the credit to purchase it.

Good, but not fantastic
