Police Patrol Live, the hottest reality law-enforcement show in the country, wants to come to Hadrian’s Well and embed camera crews in Undersheriff Joanna Donovan’s department. Her deputies are all excited about the opportunity—proud of their work and dreaming of becoming instant celebrities. But Joanna can’t agree with them. Hadrian’s Well is not like anywhere else in the world. Its deputies deal with dangerous preternatural creatures with disturbing regularity. She knows more civilians will only increase the danger to her deputies and the town. But keeping the television show out won’t be easy. The town’s normally reclusive mayor is salivating over the deal and the revenue stream it brings with it. But if Joanna can’t change the mayor and town council’s minds, she’s worried that the show might need to change its title to Police Patrol Dead.
