This audiobook considers the magnetic poles of post-war modernism and the towering figures of Pablo Picasso and Jackson Pollock. The essay considers the history of French avant-garde art led by Picasso to the post-war years and the increasing dominance of American artists foregrounded by the advent of Abstract Expressionism in the 1950s.

Interesting short essay which makes me want to know more. It is difficult to appreciate descriptions of art without seeing it so I think having a guide for further studies will be beneficial. I was given this audible book complimentary in exchange for an honest review.

Loved the narrator!

This was a very informative brief comparison of a great American Artist and a European one as well as what was going on in the world at that time. It goes into much detail about the Politics of the world at that time and how art was used to promote different political views. The narration worked well with the story. My only complaint would be that I feel that there could have been a lot more information included.

Good comparison of two great artists.
