despite his shortcomings he has wisdom to speak

I know James has had some troubles in recent years but even he himself in the story reminds us that an authentic guru will demonstrate even those dark nights of the soul which often times are our greatest catalysts to growth. I don't think there is anything in here that is unwise or untrue and it should be regarded as a source of information that should be kept and meditated on just like the works of many of the other great teachers.

I have been a member of audible since 2001, and over the years have downloaded several titles. This book by far is the best I have ever downloaded. I listen to parts of it on a daily basis. Recomend to anyone looking for inter peace, and a pupose of being.

I LOVE his practical and no-nonsense approach to awakening. James Arthur Ray really talks about getting down to business here and doing the work with Spirituality. Without practical guides like this, we could easily get bogged down with a lot of "stuff" that we can just unload and then just focus on what we really need to do. I also LOVE that he incorporates many experiences and world views (because, face it, there is A LOT of Spiritual Stuff out there) on getting to "that place" we wonder about and wonder how to get there. For me, he made it real and attainable with this book. And after all the work I have already done, it was like taking a breath of fresh air to believe I have an attainable truth. Good for the Spirit!

This book is full of power. It has energized my pursuit of purity. Its full of practical realization. James has experienced many spiritual teachers and the energy and inspiration flows from the words. Its very action oriented... but thought-fully so. I highly recommend listening to it right now!
