Interesting premise

The story starts with a man in prison for murder who believes himself innocent. His wife is a lawyer who is trying to. help prove his innocence. As a young boy, he was treated for seizures . He. remembers having hallucinations during the seizures. This story is about a possible future and technology being used to save a portion of humanity from a planetwide catastrophe. The question is, is it the right portion of humanity?
