This book invoked so many emotions in me. I felt so much for so many of these characters and I just knew that with so much detail and so much emotion and so many twists that the author was going to do this story justice and leave us complete by letting us know "where they are now".. Sadly that only kinda happened. So many details towards the end were spent on things and B cast characters that I didn't care about - and the one thing/person I really did care about was left with a one word ending. UGH! This book had the potential to be great *sigh*... but it was just pretty good.

Pretty Good... But I wanted Great.

This was a very good book. It was predictable, but it definitely captured my attention. Maybe it was the definition of the narrorators reading but needless to say it was a great book. I loved the characters in the book. So typical of any American family. It could have been your family or my family. Drug addiction and violence is not discrimatory to any race or gender. But it is typical in the human face when feeling are involved. It made you think" I know someone just like that. The ending was great. It was the twist in the story. A little unreal when the entire investigation of the muder took part. But it told the story of what a real loving parent would go through for the love of their child(ren)

Great Book

This book was great. About family and perseverance. I recommended this book to a co-worker and she told me that "you did't tell me that I would be crying while reading this book."
