ALL KILLERS WANT TO MAKE THE FRONT PAGE...

It was supposed to be a simple case: a young man arrested for armed assault.

But it was just the beginning.

As Rodney Middleton awaits trial, Detective Jack Warr is warned by his mentor DCI Ridley that they have only scratched the surface of the man's crimes.

Then DCI Ridley is suddenly removed from his post. No one is to contact him - and no one will say why.

As Warr digs into Middleton's past, Ridley calls pleading for help, now accused of a murder he insists he didn't commit.

To catch a monster and exonerate his friend, Warr must weed out the lies. But what awaits Warr if he uncovers the truth?

Oh yes, another excellent Lynda LaPlante thriller/police procedural, the way only she can write them. Excellent narrator as well!

Loved it!

Awful narration. Could not connect with characters or plot. Turned off by narrator. I have never returned a book of hers before.

Worse La Plant book ever

I don't understand where La Plante was trying to go with this book and I found it unbelievable. The villain held an underage girl captive in his apartment and the police claimed they had no evidence to keep him in custody. Really?? (This happens fairly early in the book, so this isn't a spoiler.) Also, the subplot with Riddly is stupid. Listen to it if you want to keep up with the series, but you can probably get by with a couple of chapters at the beginning and end. I'm planning to return it.
