Shorts better than novels

The short stories of Ellery Queen tend to be better than the full length novels.

A standard short story set

The stories were typical Ellery Queen tales of deductions. There were two Wrightsville stories For fans but there were no special stories that stood out to make this a must have set.

Performance

The stories were great. The performer of the stories has a very monotone voice and read to fast. It made it hard to follow and stay engaged in the stories. A better choice could have been made for the performance.

Ellery is a good writer too

I had forgotten that Ellery is a talented wordsmith and efficient plotter. Sometimes his sentences are long but as often he turns a clever phrase. This is classic literature.

great fun in smaller doses.

clever short stories. I was pleased that each story was different. I will enjoy hearing them again in the future.
