Sports Romance, Touching Story, Enjoyable Audio ❤️

WOW! This book had me all in my feels! What an outstanding college football romance! This book was so much more than I was expecting in the absolute best way! It may all surround football but it has an underlying story that is both heart wrenching and tragic. It made the characters feel so real as they were just college kids trying to deal with the hands they’ve been dealt in life. It’s a sports college romance that is a complete page turner and will have you captivated in its beautifully developed storyline!

“When I’m away from her, I’m my normal, logical self. I recognize that there is no point in even entertaining the thought of her. But when I’m around her…It’s like she scrambles my freaking brain. All I want to do is get a rise out of her, get her to do anything other than float by me like an emotionless ghost.”

Coach Lee is the new head football coach for the college team and he has one rule only. Do not go near his daughter, Julep. Do not even think about flirting with her or even asking her on a date. She is off limits. However, the team’s quarterback, Holden, already knew he wanted her as soon as he saw her. It may seem like a cut and dry storyline but there is SO MUCH more to it! The characters have so much depth and develop throughout the course of the story both individually and together. It is truly a beautifully development to watch happen! It’s a forbidden romance but also forced proximity as Julep and Holden are neighbors but also work together as Julep is studying sports medicine and helps with the team. Can’t recommend this book enough!

Edward Black and Amy Levin were new to me narrators but they did a fabulous job performing the audio of this book! They were pleasing to listen to and made it a really easy listen!

Another win for the Red Zone Rivals series!

After listening to Blind Side, I knew I was going to have to continue with the Red Zone Rivals series to get Holden’s story—and he was everything I was hoping for AND MORE.

What I loved:
1. Holden, our MMC, is legitimately The Perfect Wholesome Guy. Yes, he has trauma in his past, but he is a survivor who now LIVES his life to fullest, no regrets. He’s a leader, a motivator, a friend, and SUCH a quintessential book boyfriend. *CHEF’S KISS*
2. Julep is our FMC and she, too, has trauma. She is still working hard at trying to overcome all of the lasting impacts, but the past still has its grip on her. She is a complex character who struggles with self worth. Her story was heartbreaking to read, but many parts felt achingly familiar. Watching her learn to forgive herself was one of my favorite parts of her story arc.
3. The sneaking around behind her dad’s back brought wayyyy more steam to the spicy scenes! That thrill of will they/won’t they get caught really upped the ante!
4. Holden’s family dynamic. It’s no wonder he’s so gd wholesome! So much love! It made me want to have a family dinner with them.

As for the narration, I feel like I need to preface this with the fact that I’m a picky listener. I listened at a 2.2x speed and it was still easy to understand both narrators.

The female narrator did a great job with Julep’s voice, however the side characters’ voices sounded a bit strange (almost like she was trying to make them too different from Julep). The male narrator’s voice sounded nothing like how I imagined Holden to sound: it was almost like the voice was that of a much older male. I imagined it to be deeper. It wasn’t off-putting, per se. I was able to listen easily and finish the book without issue.

Would I listen to this book again? Absolutely! I loved the way the story unfolded!

If you’re looking for a spicy sports romance featuring two broken yet healing souls, go for the DL!

Another amazing Red Zone Rivals Audible!

I had already read this book, but got the Audible when it released so I relived it again. What a ride! I love this story so much and the narrators really brought it to life for me. I got to shed some new tears and get my heart warmed all over again.

I loved everything about this book!

This book gave me all the feels! I love Holden and Julep and their story. This book was everything, and I was hooked from the first chapter! This book was so well-written and I could not get enough of these two. The angst and tension between these two was *chef’s kiss*. The narrators were phenomenal and I can’t wait to read/listen to more of Kandi Steiner’s books!

Loved the characters. Loved the plot and storyline. So so good. Might be my fav Kandi Steiner book to date.
