YOU CAN’T SAVE ANYTHING UNTIL YOU SAVE YOURSELF.

Allan Quinn Fitzpatrick is no hero. A failed writer and middle-aged bachelor, he can’t seem to find love or happiness. When he encounters a fantastical creature in New York City’s Central Park, he’s convinced he’s lost his mind. But when he loses his job and finds a mysterious one-way ticket to Ireland he grudgingly embarks on an extraordinary adventure—one that leads him deep into the unseen, mystical realm of nature. What he discovers changes everything, forcing him to make a powerful decision: Will he retreat back into what’s safe and familiar or embrace a profound new way to see nature, the world, and most importantly himself?

Quest is a rare gem—a mythic journey disguised as play, a sacred remembering wrapped in wild imagination. Marcia Zina Mager leads us home to truth with the lightness of wonder, mischief, and deep knowing. It was page-turner in the truest sense—awakening something ancient, tender, and fiercely alive within me. Pure, precious, and indelibly transformative. Wow. I’m so grateful she wrote this book— giving each of us an opportunity to embark on our own “quest.” Whether read or listened to, it will awaken you more deeply to your true self and help you remember what’s true.

Quest is a rare and thoughtful work — honest, reflective, and quietly powerful. Marcia Mager’s writing feels deeply personal while touching on something universal. It’s not just a story, it’s a meaningful journey. Eden Gabay’s narration matches the spirit of the book perfectly. He brings Quest to life with warmth, nuance, and clarity.

You can tell this project meant something to both the author and the narrator. That care comes through on every level. I’m grateful to have listened — and I hope there’s more to come from both of them.

The story is fresh and full of life. I think it's daring to write a fantasy novel that addresses current themes of burning importance, and that is exactly what Ms. Mage has done. It rings true on the level of individual characters, but it's so much more than that. Quest speaks to the loss of our connection with the natural world, and the urgency of our need to regain that connection.
The narrator is brilliant, one of the best I've heard.
I listened to this book in one sitting, and I'm glad I did, because I could appreciate it as a whole. Don't take my word for it. Listen to Quest for yourself. You'll be glad you did.

Entertaining, beautifully crafted, full of heart
