A great story to share with a young child.

I listen to the audible version of this book together with my 7 year old granddaughter and we both loved it. You couldn’t help getting involved in the mystery of the story line because it was so well presented. My granddaughter became quite excited and couldn’t wait for Rebekah to discover who the mysterious thief was. What a great way to share a children’s story with a young child. My granddaughter couldn’t help talking about how clever and courage’s Rebekah was. I can highly recommend this story.

A less demure version of Nancy Drew

Reading a book for school kids is fun. It may be predictable as hell, but seeing a glimpse of how they see the world from their perspective always fascinates me. However, I just find our MC, Rebekah, to be a bit more aggressive and pushy. I pity Ernie when he first met Rebekah face-to-face. Regardless, this is still a good book for your reading challenge. I would still recommend this book to kids, even if Rebekah is too strong a character for my liking.

Safe for little kids

My boys 2 (almost 3) and 6 yrs old, both love this story. Even the the little guy asks for “Wabekah”. They like mystery, but are sensitive, so the serious kid’s mysteries are too much for us. This is perfect because there is mystery, but the mystery is missing flowers. haha So nothing scary, and no bad words. We love it!

Great entertainment for the road. Niece loved it!

Where does Rebekah - Girl Detective #1 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I'm an avid car listener and love audio books. Was looking for something for my 10 year old niece for a road trip...and picked a winner. We loved it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

We loved Rebekah, and that she didn't ever give up. Wasn't afraid to keep on.

Which character – as performed by Roxana Bell – was your favorite?

Again, Rebekah. Loved the characterizations. We laughed and rooted for her.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely. Wanted to find out what happened, and for Rebekah not to give up! She's brave!

Cute book for ages 4 to 7

Although this story was a bit young for my nine-year-old niece, she and I both agreed that when she was a little younger, she would have loved it. The story is cute and sweet. Little Rebekah dreams of being a serious detective so she keeps a little notebook with lists of life's mysteries she wants to solve. In this book, she wants to solve the question of who is stealing the flowers. The way the flower-thief is handled is a nice lesson as well.
Roxana Ball does a wonderful job narrating PJ Ryan's stories..
