When we're young, it's easy to believe in the supernatural, the mysterious, the enchanted. But as we grow older, we learn to be more "rational" and more confident that reality is merely what we can see. Even as Christians who believe in the resurrection, we live as if miracles and magic have been drained from the world.

As Mike Cosper wrestled with his own disillusionment, he found writers, thinkers, and artists like Hannah Arendt, Charles Taylor, James K. A. Smith, and David Foster Wallace whose words and ideas reassured him that he was not alone. And he discovered ancient and modern disciplines that shape a Christian way of life and awaken the possibility of living again in an enchanted world.

Exquisitely written with thoughtful practices woven throughout, this book will feed your soul and help you recapture the wonder of your Christian walk.

This treatment of the disciplines was the most relatable and compelling I've ever heard. They are presented in an irresistibly inviting manner. Mike Cosper opens the door to a realm where you can experience the supernatural while also being grounded in reality. Every believer in Jesus can find application from this book, no matter the stage of your journey.

THIS TOPIC, the need for restoring wonder, IS SO VERY IMPORTANT. THE AUTHOR GETS A BIG thumbs up from me for writing a book about it.. There are some fine quotes by very wise men, eg. Chesterton, and the rest are some basic advise and stories...
However, the reservations are a few historical quotes and ideas that were simply shocking to me..for example He brings up a picture of john Calvin's CITY as a ideal to be desired for now,,,.Anybody who does a remedial look at the history of John Calvin and what he created in Geneva would cringe at the reference...its like saying Hitlers kingdome is a ideal...I'm NOT judging those who identify as calvinists Christians, I'm talking fact about a mass murder who was a power hungry psychologically sick tyrant who turned Geneva into a city of terror and death...
I simply find it bewildering how the author can make references in a few places soo off..
That aside, the rest of this audiobook is quite nice..the reader does a great job as well.

Good with a few reservations.
