A Story of Love That Won’t Let Go—No Matter What Soon to be a major motion picture, directed by D. J. Caruso and starring Abigail Cowen, Tom Lewis, Nina Dobrev, with Logan Marshall Green and Eric Dane, special appearance by Famke Janssen.

California’s gold country, 1850. A time when men sold their souls for a bag of gold and women sold their bodies for a place to sleep.

Angel expects nothing from men but betrayal. Sold into prostitution as a child, she survives by keeping her hatred alive. And what she hates most are the men who use her, leaving her empty and dead inside.

Then she meets Michael Hosea, a man who seeks his Father’s heart in everything.

Michael obeys God’s call to marry Angel and to love her unconditionally. Slowly, day by day, he defies Angel’s every bitter expectation until, despite her resistance, her frozen heart begins to thaw.

But with her unexpected softening comes overwhelming feelings of unworthiness and fear. And so Angel runs. Back to the darkness, away from her husband’s pursuing love, terrified of the truth she no longer can deny: her final healing must come from the One who loves her even more than Michael does … the One who will never let her go.

A powerful retelling of the story of Gomer and Hosea, Redeeming Love is a lifechanging story of God’s unconditional, redemptive, all-consuming love.

I will go ahead and admit that I have not read this one yet, because of the fact that audible just put this title up yesterday; however, I bought this book for my mother when we were on vacation. My mother swore up and down that she hated to read. With this book however, she couldn't put it down. She finished it inthree days, and since then, has become a very avid reader. I've heard very similar stories from friends when this book is mentioned. Every person that I've discussed this book with has encouraged me to read it even the ones who say that they aren't big on reading. What I have read so far has been awesome! The narator is good, and I enjoy the story overall. I know without having finished this book that I will love it. If my mom loves it, anyone will.

really awesome and amazing

This book helped me remember that God Loves me regardless of my past. And how to accept love from others even though I might not think I deserve it. Wow! Moving, emotional, confirming and rejoiceful. Well crafted to bring out the true emotion of the relationship between us and the Father. Awesome and again thank you.

Thank you

I'm not a fan of Christian fiction generally. I think most of it is insipid - poorly written, trite, and weak on the spiritual aspects.

There is a reason that Francine Rivers is a beloved author and a bestseller in Christian fiction. She was a successful write of historical romances - the steamy stuff. And then she met Jesus Christ, who transformed her life and her writing. After 3 years away from writing anything, the Lord gave her a vision for her first Christian novel - an adaptation of the book of Hosea, set in 1850s gold rush California with a Godly man who is seeking God's will and the prostitute that God put in his life as his wife.

Rivers does a good job on the adaptation. Her characters are well drawn, fully human, people who are real and flawed. The truth about love, forgiveness, grace and mercy, judgment, and redemption are all present.

My only complaint is that the book seemed long. It seemed that with some editing it could have been more concise, less repetitive. But maybe that's just me.

I listening to Redeeming Love very much. Narrator, Kate Forbes, did a good job.

I adored this book! It was moving and captivating, and properly showed the healing process of a woman going from great trauma and darkness to great healing and faith. Beautifully written, and the interview with the author at the end was a great bonus!
Worth the listen!

An amazing story of healing, strength, grace, and faith!
