The chanciest of encounters. A wealthy twenty-something guy scrolling his phone literally runs into a not wealthy twenty-something girl who's adjusting her bag. On Manhattan's Upper East Side. Apology coffees at a nearby Starbucks. Exchanged numbers. It all comes to nothing when she learns who he is. Not evil. Just too much of a celebrity. She doesn't want the paparazzi. So they go their separate ways.

Love gets complicated on another front, though, when Bridget, a nurse and a mutual friend, discovers a despondent woman on a beach in the Hamptons. Evelyn is straight (she thinks) and gorgeous, and she sleeps with someone's boyfriend. Bridget chooses Evelyn over all the others and the two discover the joys of sapphic love.
