A radically new understanding of and practical approach to climate change by noted environmentalist Paul Hawken, creator of the New York Times bestseller Drawdown

Regeneration offers a visionary new approach to climate change, one that weaves justice, climate, biodiversity, equity, and human dignity into a seamless tapestry of action, policy, and transformation that can end the climate crisis in one generation. It is the first book to describe and define the burgeoning regeneration movement spreading rapidly throughout the world.

Regeneration describes how an inclusive movement can engage the majority of humanity to save the world from the threat of global warming, with climate solutions that directly serve our children, the poor, and the excluded. This means we must address current human needs, not future existential threats, real as they are, with initiatives that include but go well beyond solar, electric vehicles, and tree planting to include such solutions as the fifteen-minute city, bioregions, azolla fern, food localization, fire ecology, decommodification, forests as farms, and the number one solution for the world: electrifying everything.

Paul Hawken and the nonprofit Regeneration Organization are launching a series of initiatives to accompany the book, including a streaming video series, curriculum, podcasts, teaching videos, and climate action software. Regeneration is the inspiring and necessary guide to inform the rapidly spreading climate movement.

Everyone must read this book! At first I had to skip around to chapters that resonate with me because I had a hard time relating to the first few chapters, but now I’m going back and filling in the rest. I find this book to be fascinating, inspiring and motivating. As an Atlanta city dweller I’m especially interested in what Paul revealed about transformations in urban planning, building construction (omg living walls!) clothing industry, healthcare, transportation, plastics industry, food and regenerative agriculture.

The most important book to read!

Excellent overall. I agree 100% wit most of everything except when he touched defense and war. As a mother of 3, I will vehemently defend and protect my children and grandchildren from countries that are determined to destroy us. Whether it is an upfront assault or more likely a slow, debilitating aggression to our country, civilization and way of life. I would love to endorse “peace” but not at our expense, especially when others are set to undermine and overtake us in all respects.

The discipled enumeration of all the systems that contribute to our climate crisis and their complexities.

They should become either a single textbook set up with discussion points and questions at the end of each chapter or as a series of textbooks perhaps for younger students. It’s important that these many concepts, stories, Scientific Revelations And just basic information about our planet in our culture they put out in front of the public eye for all to take in and consider.

Compelling, truth telling, gives concrete examples of work being done and how you can join in. Should be a "must read" for everyone interested in making life style changes that contribute to lowering one's
carbon footprint.

This is a book everyone needs to read. There is so much to learn and so much we can all do to help the planet, but we need to take the first step and educate ourselves. I now feel empowered to do more.

The way forward! Amazing
