Repentance in the Storm

Life was never promised to be a consistently smooth, warm and breezy day on the beach. When things get tough that's when we tap into those church sermons and hymns that taught us how The Lord would be with us through it all, how nothing comes as a surprise to Him, and he has instilled in us everything we would need to carry on through life’s lowest valleys. Also, how to praise Him through the good and the bad, because ALL things work together for those that love the Lord!
However, what happens when life just gets overwhelming and the bad days and trials seem to overpower everything we have ever been taught and believed in. How do we get out of bed, let alone find the strength to live in a world that has constantly tried to break us down? How do we forgive those who have attempted to beat us to the bone? And how do we praise that same God that we are taught is all knowing and full of grace, when we are in a constant state of rage, pain, and guilt? More importantly, how do we forgive ourselves after feeling any of these things when it goes against everything our bibles tell us? This is the crossroad Ah’Lyzzah Jackson has reached after tragedy has nearly taken her out. Now she has to find her way back to the basics of leaning on family and her passions. And the hardest of them all, finding the strength and courage to dig within the deepest parts of her spirit and soul to repent and forgive herself in order to live again.
