Corbin Granger once ruled the slopes as a professional snowboarder—until a devastating accident ended his career. Now, as a rescue agent for the Wild Animal Protection Agency, he’s traded fame for solitude in the rugged Alaskan wilderness. The snow, the silence, and the animals are all he needs… or so he thinks.

Wildlife biologist Penny Roberts arrives in Alaska eager to study the region’s elusive predators. But when a brutal storm leaves her stranded and fighting for survival, she finds unexpected refuge in the cabin of a brooding man with eyes as cold—and as captivating—as the ice outside.

As the storm rages and danger closes in, Corbin and Penny must work together to save a pack of orphaned wolf cubs. In the process, they might just discover that even the iciest hearts can melt when touched by love.

The narrator’s voice is almost airy and frivolous as we turn away from a Jack London story to an ideal girl getting rescued by an ideal guy in a secluded cabin where only they make the rules. At this point, much censorship is applied and we know only a little of what occurs. They seem nervous about their future together so don’t even exchange phone numbers upon parting. (Skip past brackets for just my judgment )

[partial SPOILER HERE maybe…They meet again weeks later and Penny holds Corbin responsible for not contacting. When Corbin sees the cold-shouldered, ungrateful and grudge holding side of Penny, he thanks God that he didn’t get involved.
JK!
Of course he has to work to win her.
Meanwhile, wolves exhibit weird and unrealistic behavior. ]

Don’t expect any Attenborough imagery, not much author effort is expended on setting or nature immersion.
Absolutely don’t expect any surprises (beyond unnatural wolf behavior) as the story follows formula with just enough character development and God/doG mentions to meet requirements. If this were food, it would be a sugar cookie.
