This is the fifth in the many fine stories in the on-going saga of the Company of Archers. Swords clash, arrows fly, and nobles and churchmen are gulled out of their coins. Harry Flashman would be pleased and those who are politically correct appalled.

This somewhat witty and always action-packed saga of the archers is set in medieval England in the years following King Richard's crusade. William and the survivors and their new recruits successfully raid Tunis on their way back to the Holy Land from England. But instead of continuing on to the Holy Land ports to earn their coins and bread carrying desperate pilgrims and refugees to safety, they divert to Constantinople and attack the decaying Byzantine fleet in an effort to save some of their fellow archers who have been captured and are being held for ransom - and in doing so they reap so much devastation and destruction that the tables are turned. The action is non-stop and the outcome a great surprise.
