Walking out the way she did on the love of her life was the single greatest mistake she had ever made.

The City of Laketon, Michigan hosts a car ferry hub that crosses Lake Michigan to the city of Magawakin, Wisconsin each day. The ferry, also known as the Wolverine, crosses with a host of vehicles and passengers for the eight-hour round trip. Travelers enjoy top deck amenities such as a restaurant, movie theater, live entertainment, and fun things for kids, including a play area for children and a gaming room for teens.

Eleanor was surprised when the owner of the ferry company decided to send her back to run the various entertainment aspects for the Wolverine and at the Magawakin docking area. She hadn’t returned to that side of the lake in close to ten years. The last time she was there, Silas had asked her to marry him, having her entire future laid out in front of her, scaring her enough to run away. She wanted to see the world and finish her bucket list before being tied down, despite truly believing Silas was her soul mate. It was the hardest decision she had ever made until now.

When Silas learns of Eleanor’s pending return, he finds himself upset and a little perplexed about her coming back. When she arrives, she is met with resentment and cold shoulders from the community without her family close by anymore to give her support. It doesn’t help that she holds her New York attitude close while trying to engage with the very people paying her salary. When everything comes to a head, she suddenly leaves again, with Silas standing there once again broken hearted.

The Love Across the Lake series is based upon Joel 2:12-14 (NIV). “Return to Me,” is the first book in this six-book series. Download this clean romance book to make you feel good about yourself and your world.
