The truth commands a devastating price. She’s kept it a secret. Until now.

When Lauren’s parents die in a small plane crash, she inherits the fortune they made with the sale of their software business. Determined to follow in their footsteps, she moves her young family to Austin and launches her own successful company.

But her charmed life begins to fray at the edges when an idle threat made 18 years earlier comes back to haunt her. Someone with a grudge is willing to stop at nothing to destroy her. Someone with time on their hands and murder in mind. Someone who knows her secret.

Can she save herself from a dangerous past before a killer comes calling?

A riveting guessing game of a thriller that will leave you gasping in shock!

This was an interesting tale about the past having consequences and what happens when the past comes back to haunt you. This was a great mystery story that kept me guessing all the way through. The reveal did catch me off guard, I had not expected that! In all honesty, I did not like the main character - in a really good way. She was arrogant, presumptuous and a liar but she was written so well that all of that just draws you into the story even more. A great listen! The narrator and author did a great job with this one

[Thank you N.L. for the free audiobook, this is my honest and voluntary opinion]

Right Behind You: A psychological suspense thriller (Payback Pasts Collection - Standalone Thrillers), my fourteenth amazing (246-page/7-hour 49-minute) read from author N.L. Hinkens. I enjoyed the outstanding psychological thriller with its intricately woven twists and turns, all of Hinken's works have had more knots than Alexander the Greats Gordian Knot! Norma (N.L.) Hinkens has become one of my favorite authors! I was given an Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily reading & reviewing it. Narrator Leanne Woodward's narration adds to the book's enjoyment. What You Wish For: A psychological suspense thriller (Wicked Ways Collection - Standalone Thrillers) is next on my TBR list once it's published in May of this year. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

A 5-star, outstanding psychological thriller

Suspenseful

I found the story ok but the main character was so annoying. Overly paranoid, full of herself and constantly doing the opposite of what she should. Are women expected to be this irrational? It makes no sense at all. The idea that someone is so ashamed of going to a troubled girls school is ridiculous and completely short sighted. Lots of people have troubled childhoods and those that get through it and especially those who do it in such a major way like this woman are proud to have come so far. So much of the story had no ring of sense. This is my 1st book by this author I'm not sure if I'll try any others. Other people seem to have liked it though.
