I love how this story weaves history and life lessons into the fabric of a riverside heritage. The joy of nature. The contentment of hard work. The power of forgiveness. The ability to see how our choices affect our peace. All of these and more drift through the life of a woman who faces circumstances that tried to suppress her joy.
