Notorious outlaw Manitoba Joe Clark seems to have been caught red-handed this time, but he's begging Judge Kingston to find out who framed him.

At home, life seems to be unraveling for the judge and his wife Judith. Will their widowed missionary son marry a most unlikely woman and return to India? Can evidence implicating Roberta's fiance as an embezzler and the father of an illegitimate child be true?

Normally with most stories you can guess the ending if you read a lot of fiction. This one kept me guessing! Who really was the renegade? Excellent writing! Told in a relaxed way like you were in the town itself and yet you still couldn’t figure out the plot.

This book and series is five star books. I have loved all three. I like how they tie together. I do think you have to pay extra attention to keep up with everything. There's a few different things going on. Joe Clark is trying to get the Judge to help prove he's innocent. The Judge and Judith is older and there son is moving to India. In all three books you learn all about Carson City and the people in it. I am going back and listening to book one again. I think since I know what I know now Book one will be good to relisten to. Laura Klein does a great job narrating this book. If my review is any help will you please click on the helpful link below. Thank you.
