This audio is great for quick facts and overview which is exactly what I was expecting. The narrator was pleasant so I have no complaints.

Good Overview, But Irritating in Places

This book provides a good overview of Roman Britain. At slightly over two hours, it of course does not go into depth.

It is a little irritating in places. There is a lot of lofty rhetoric in the book, along the lines of, "now that we have learned the details of X, it of course presents the following fascinating questions (Y and Z)," but in reality you never learned the details of X (just the gist), and never get the answers to X and Y. I kept thinking "will you please get to the point and answer the questions." Because of this approach, the actual facts covered probably could have been presented in even less time.

Even with that, it does provide an overview. The narration is decent.

This reads like ai wrote it. The chapter and sentence structure feels like bullet points of history that was then expanded upon by an ai system.

Great Info... ASMR Author?

The content is fascinating- but the narrator ruined it for me. His voice is too calming and soothing that you nearly fall asleep within moments of turning in. He has a wonderful voice, but he should pursue ASMR instead of narrating.

If you are looking into this title because you are interested, I think buying a book would be better. But if you are looking to fall asleep to something, you're in the right place!
