Critic reviews

"Like The Perfect Storm, this collection tells hypnotic tales of mariners battling the remorseless sea." (Tim Queeney, Editor, Ocean Navigator)

Very interesting story on a way of life and protection of a whale species. This story alone and its balanced approach makes this book worth reading.

Really found this boring. Write up makes it sound like there would be stories of "man" against the sea, but there was more of man against man. Don't bother with this one.

Not worth the time

I was hoping for something this was not, I was hoping for something adventurous, but found myself bored.

Narrator was monotonous and dry. The stories are much older and written in that older dry style. I didn't particularly enjoy this book.
