The highway cut through the barren landscape like a wound that refused to heal. For two hundred miles in every direction, nothing grew taller than a man's knee. The asphalt shimmered under a brutal midday sun, bending the world at its edges until distance itself became unreliable.

Ray Navarro sat behind the wheel of a dust-caked pickup, leading a tight convoy transporting industrial drilling equipment. He had driven this route before, but the emptiness always unsettled him. It was a landscape that repeated itself, hiding its secrets behind the unbearable heat.

When a sudden, unnatural amber darkness swallows the sky, the convoy is forced to a grinding halt. A massive low-pressure system descends, bringing elevated winds and reduced visibility that trap them inside a roaring wall of flying grit. But the storm is not the only thing hunting them.

Massive, nine-foot-tall predators with calculated intelligence begin to test the walls of their vehicles. These are not mindless animals. They are silent, patient, and highly strategic. As the temperature inside the truck climbs to suffocating levels, Ray and a terrified passenger named Sofia must make a desperate choice. They can stay inside the metal box and slowly roast alive, or they can step out into the blinding yellow dust and face the silent hunters waiting in the dark.

Every shadow hides a new terror. Every gust of wind masks the sound of approaching doom. The bone fields hidden within the eye of the storm tell a chilling history of those who came before. Silence is their only defense, but outlasting the elements demands action. Who will make it out of the badlands alive?
