Maurice Harriman died several days earlier under mysterious circumstances. Until his discovery by Lestrade, the body had been resting peacefully in the morgue. When Holmes opens the letter, he discovers an ace of diamonds Black Lantern playing card. Holmes reveals he received the exact card in the post, three days previously. It falls to Holmes and Watson to discover what connects these playing cards with Harriman’s death. The case takes a sharp turn when another body, seemingly connected to the case, is discovered at the morgue…

Excellent Sherlock Holmes novella

Mr Abbott is the finest of authors of Sherlock Holmes. Kindle Unlimited had his novels published so I subscribed and feasted on this banquet of Holmes stories.

Then this one was included with Audible Plus and I enjoyed it. The British accented AI was the best I’ve heard so far. Enjoy!

Awkward reading by Virtual Voice.

Virtual voice was really annoying. I kept “correcting” the reading in my mind. This made it hard to follow the plot. I will NOT listen to virtual voice recordings again.

poor plot. don't even poorer narration

Narration was terrible, plot boring, moved too slowly, no interest, No English accent, amateur writing, not worth listening to.
