The effort implies non-crappitude

In response to David, no one suggested that this book was intended for beginning Russian speakers. As it is, simply its existance on a site like this is enough to warrant three stars. It is very difficult to find Russian text freely available on popular American websites, and an audiobook? Well, rare doesn't begin to describe it. The fourth star is granted as this is actually a rather good book. Good Russian authors are scarce (no offense intended) as it is difficult to sift through all the post-glasnost muck that's floating around. That this book was translated and transcribed into an English audiobook is perhaps evidence enough that it is not a 1-star book. For all the effort, it has to be worth it (and it was).
