The adventures of Mrs Morland (Margaret Dashwood, as was, from Sense and Sensibility, Miss Dashwood's Dilemma, etc) in the seaside resort of Sandytown (definitely not Sanditon).
This volume follows on from Miss Dashwood's Dilemma, and covers the period from Margaret's wedding to George Morland ( brother of Catherine, of Northanger Abbey fame), to their leaving for a new practice in Hertfordshire. On the way, we witness their efforts to support Sir John Middleton's new seaside spa resort in spite of the absence of both spa water and sea water, not to mention sand.
We also see the first meeting between Margaret and a familiar character, and join her in foiling more than one dastardly plot.
Those who liked Ron McGowan's earlier Miss Margaret books will be sure to like this one.
