This book is a historical work of fiction that focuses on the obstacles one must overcome while keeping the faith, and a deep love of God and family during The Great Depression. Adventure, romance, despair, and hope will all be experienced in this tale.

The author, Barbara Arnold Linkous, weaves an adventure-filled narrative around the historical Great Depression and its effects on people, places, and life. The research is extensive in this narrative as she accurately weaves the emotions, faith, and obstacles that people were forced to overcome and handle daily. What a beautiful touching story. There was so much history that was told just like it was back in the day. My own grandmother and mother taught me how to plan and prepare for hardships because they went through them. This one blessed me and brought back memories of my youth. The narrator was wonderful and she was so spot on.
