In my 28 years of nonprofit consulting, I have not read a book better if you truly want to make a significant impact in addressing key community needs, which I feel we have not adequately addressed. I really enjoyed the shift in mindset - to move from 'begging for funds' to co-creating your focused plan with 'investors' to scale impact - not just survive. With the Nonprofit Fiscal Cliff combined with anticipated Federal cuts, nonprofits will have to serve more needs with less funding; therefore, they must focus on what they do best, create their BHAG, prove their outcomes, and then partner with investors to scale this focused impact and partner with other service providers to meet the needs of those they serve that is not their core competency.
Should be required reading for any ED/CEO and nonprofit studies college student.
