His captors used barbaric and sadistic torture techniques on him, but McDaniel remained a source of hope and strength for his fellow POWs by clinging to his faith in even the darkest of hours.

A hard account to hear but everyone needs to hear it!

This book tells of the grotesque conditions and treatment human beings can inflict on other human beings and how through it all God never leaves us. It’s a story of grit, teamwork, determination to survive, and never giving up because God showed up in ways that showed Red he saw him and loved him.
At first I was not sure I could get through the narration, it seemed to slow and deep in tone but it ended up being fantastic for the story. Very animated in parts that brought a bit of reality to the content.
A hard account to hear but everyone needs to hear it.
